Hot Honey Herby Salmon
My Hot Honey Herby Salmon is a quick and easy protein to add delicious flavor to any meal. This recipe combines sweet honey with a subtle kick of spice, enhanced by aromatic basil and oregano.
Ingredients
Directions
-
Pat salmon filets dry with a paper towel. Sprinkle seasonings evenly over the two filets. Add salt and pepper to taste. Save the hot honey for the end.
-
Heat a medium pan over medium high heat. I like to use cast iron. Add olive oil to the pan and let heat briefly.
-
Add salmon to the pan skin side down and cook for about 5-6 minutes until the skin is crispy.
-
Turn heat down slightly and flip salmon over. Cook for 3-4 more minutes or until golden. Ensure your salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145 F. It may need more time depending on the thickness of your piece.
-
When salmon is done cooking, immediately drizzle over the hot honey and serve! See notes for serving suggestions.
Notes
*This dish is very mild, depending on the spice level of your hot honey. To add more spice, add in some red pepper flakes!
